The strengths of LT150 include an GA-resolution dlp light engine that is pixel free and very high 800:1 contrast. The 800 ANSI lumen rating is not exceptional but very adequate for home theater given unusually high contrast ratio. Unit has the case, projector, cables, and manual.

To make it an ideal home theater solution at this price we'd like see have one less compact flash reader, and more component or GB port, a bit audible noise, higher light output. The LT150 features full HDTV and EDT compatibility, but it does not have div as in focus lp350 which is priced a bit less.

Fan noise is low to moderate, meaning noticeable but not unusually objectionable. A variety of controls exist for red, blue, and green adjustments, gamma, color temperature that are unique among DPs in this price range. But ultimately, image quality is what everyone wants.

As with the other Nec portables, LT150s connectivity is minimal. When you combine dlp smoothness and contrast with the color dynamics of LCD as Nec has done in this unit, get a phenomenal picture. And the LT150 can be relied upon to produce a truly magnificent video image.

Nec has moved dlp closer to LCD in color quality, just as Sonya the best DPs contrast and pix elation. The answer is that, except for lumen output which lower than ideal, there no compromise on image quality at all.

A question everyone will ask is whether they are paying for portability that don't need rather than the image quality want. The use of progressive scan DVD players for your DVDs is strongly encouraged. As noted above, the LT150 is a 3-pound projector, obviously designed for mobile presentation market. One of the many unique products from Nec that delivers amazing video quality is multisync 150, remarkable little 3 pound unit began shipping last fall.

Overall, what Nec has done in the area of color control with this dlp is impressive. This is a used unit and works great.

Nec multisync LT150 has come on strong in video performance several of its recent offerings. There is a fixed lens which modest wide angle, enabling it to throw 100 diagonal image from distance of 11 feet.
